Haldex service needed...Northwest / Cheshire

Can anyone recommend where i can have my fl2's haldex serviced? Haldex oil, filter, pump strainer. In the Cheshire / NW area...

Either a reputable garage or helpful member? Paying cash!

I'm not having much luck finding anyone apart from bell engineering and they're hours away from me.. I've even been asking supposed VAG haldex specialist garages and they're not interested.

I've been using the Lannyman in St Helens for my servicing.
He narrowed down my 'dreaded' hiccup and cured that for me.

I feel he's a bit pricey but I would imagine any Land Rover specialist is!

Two mechanics, both used to work 'on the road' for Land Rover.

I tried land ranger in middlewich (same group?) And they wanted £280! The vag groups (awesomegti etc) have set price of £180 so i thought them way too expensive... It's the same systems after all... And they declined the work because it's not vag.

Haldex (gen 3 / 4 as fitted to fl2's and evoque dependant on age) consists of specific haldex oil change and filter. The pump should also be removed and the strainer be cleaned off. Refill to haldex instructions.

Land rover officially say these units are non serviced.
However, according to Volvo, vag and ford (which all use identical 4wd haldex systems) these units need to be serviced every 2 years ideally.

It's not a labour intensive job and is straight forward for the right technician.
Parts and labour should cost no more than £180.

No problem. I'll given them a buzz and see what they say. Regarding the haldex service, i always recommend preventative maintenance! Especially if it doesn't cost that much. The parts alone can cost about £80 so I'm happy to fork the extra £100 for a respected invoice.

That's the problem with land rover! Once it breaks you'll have a bill of 4 figures to make up with them! Happy days for them... Not for the owner though.

Just funny that out of all the car marques that use the haldex system, land rover is the only one that says it's fit for life.. Neutral

Sealed for life, yeah - right Rolling with laughter

This blocks (mine was at 34K miles)

Pump burns out and Land Rover charge a nice £2.5K to replace the entire Haldex unit when all it needs is a clean and service every once in a while

Before

After

I think I know why Land Rover don't touch it

Their highly skilled "Technicians" can't plug their computer into it do diagnose the fault.

Bring back mechanics, all is forgiven.
