After 7 RRC'S, 5 disco's, 2 Defenders and now the Freelander we have decided it's our last Land rover after 26 years.

Holland & Holland, aren't they the people who 'wood' 'riffle' your 'Range' Rover.

Ah yes Purdey , the purveyors of the economy, £70,000 each , “trigger plate “over and under , hand built in London . Alternatively buy a pair or top end hand built Perazzis , and spend £25,000 on shooting . Or even buy a pair of Miroku MK 60 “High Pheasants “ have them fitted and spend £64,000 on a top end Velar to carry them in 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

At the other end of the scale, Bettinsoli make a rather fetching O/U Sporter for the price point. For day to day stuff, I rather enjoy my aged 325, which must have had thousands through it over the last 30 years, and still hits where I point it... Back on topic, I have had a test drive this weekend in a Volvo XC40, which I have to say is a strong contender for the Freelander segment if you cannot bring yourself to migrate to the Discovery Sport..Chinese or not, it's streets ahead of my brothers DS, and significantly less on list for more! ps: there's even room in the boot for the odd Purdey! |

As a kid, I had a Pistol 7.63 Lone Star, it used 'Dutch Caps', my U.N.C.L.E had it for protection.

Ah! the Mauser “ Broomhandle “ , the most complicated , unreliable self loading pistol . Just the job for a slap faced Russian agent fighting crime for the good guys . A million schoolboys of a certain age used to merrily run around the streets pointing the “ cap gun “ version at anything that moved . Oh for those innocent days , try it today and even at 11 you’d end up shot by the local armed response unit
