Where are you going this year then....?

So as the caravan 'season', if thats a thing, approaches where are people planning to go this year?

We have our first one booked, Whitemead Forest Park nr Lydney in a few weeks.
Nothing else set yet though we would also like to go to Brecon and Pembrey Country Park some point.
I would also like us to visit a site in Devon called Acorns, not the usual site (as per a thread previously http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic32820.html ) but deff something I'd like to do.

Needing to find a new job (out of contract in a few months) and a new baby on the way (end of July/start of August) might limit things a little this year though but we will see.

What are others plans for 2019? Andrew

Wife about to retire, plenty of holiday money and now I have to be in hospital every 25th and 28th day of a month Sad . So go and do it whatever it is that floats your boat.

We booked some Business Class flights to the Rockies last July for 17 nights to go this summer (before the above kicked off) and a) they just fit in the treatment time slot. b) Allowed by consultant to go if nothing changes as Canada has the knowledge to deal with me if I go off the edge c) I actually found insurance that is not a complete rip off so hopefully its on Thumbs Up

Not brave enough though to go on a caravan holiday Rolling with laughter FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Two visits to the Borders ourselves last year, cottages on the Tweed, near Coldstream. Beautiful area.
Off to the Dordogne next week, visiting prehistoric caves

3 weeks in France with the caravan, cant wait. Cant actually remember where
abouts we're going this year, my wife deals with such matters, I drive. First time with the freelander, always had the disco for the last 4 times we went, the boot capacity for vast quantities of wine will be missed. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

The usual 4 months in our permanently based caravan on the beautiful Costa Brava for the 34th year, visited in three separate Freelander trips by varying routes through France and over the Pyrenees. And we have no trouble packing in about 80 litres of wine to import.

With careful packing and limiting the clothing you can still collect 240L of wine in a Freelander without exceeding either the cars GVM or the vans MTPLM, remember you have an extra 100Kgs in the car when towing as you won't exceed the the 100kph when towing Whistle Whistle my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Ditched the van 3 years ago, found out that a mobile home worked out very near the same price as towing the van to the Med coast ( from Scotland)
Yes I am married however the OH considered a £400 plus saving on wine was worth some sacrifice. Very Happy my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Dartman, my Significant Others the same - if we travel by car she compensates for the air travel with baggage restrictions Wink
