Going to do this but want to know if i prime the return side to tank(red arrow) of filter so its effectively pull diesel from tank , through filter then back to tank outlet on filter the system should be air free?

I bleed the system with a vacuum pump connected to the return outlet of the fuel filter the one to the tank (looking at the filter from the top it is the rear on the left) this extracts all the air in the system, from the filter, fuel pump and injector lines. Once the system is purged of air the vehicle should start without any problem.

It's all in the JLR workshop manual available via a search on this forum.
Basically you pump fuel from the tank through the filter and around the system with an in-line bulb pump - available for a few quid from Amazon/eBay Jules
