United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Fuji White
Midline CD - can you swap to 6 cd easily?

Hi,
Not been on for a while, I’ve recently came back to FL2 ownership - got a lovely Fuji white LE sport auto 11 plate, love the looks (and the SD4 compared to my last FL2! Very Happy )
Spec has most of what I need,
Sadly no DAB (I may try the upgrade yet!) but reason for this topic is:
I only have the single cd alpine unit, and midline Alpine amp/speaker setup.
I’ve seen plenty 2nd user 6cd units on flea bay,
Is it just a case of opening up the dash and changing over the units?
Do I need a code?
I’ve got factory fit Bluetooth if that makes a difference (not sure where the module is located)
Tried a topic search but couldn’t see anything that answered my question.

Am I better off just trying to fit an Xtrons unit in place of my nav and using usb?

Thanks in advance

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Is the last post on this the answer you are looking for?

http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic26576.html?highlight=nav+upgrade

This was the search I used

http://www.freel2.com/forum/search.php?sea...rch_time=0 FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Hi,
Thanks but not what I was after, I’ve done another search but can’t seem to find anything matching.
Basically I’ve already got an Alpine cd head unit, but was after a 6cd version so I can load it up to the max with mp3s.
Appreciate the help anyway.

Hi
I’d love it if I did, I don’t get the DAB logo on boot and pressing the “FM” button on the head unit just selects between FM 1/2
I’ve got the aerial in the rear side panels for DAB but doesn’t look like I got the rest lol 😂

OK ..... I have the radio as shown in the photo below. (in my 09 Reg)

The selection button on the top left marked 'FM Digital'. If I press it once I get FM 1, a second press FM2, then cycles through 1 /2 repeatedly.
'Digital' or DAB never appears, I have tried in many location within the UK and city/town/rural ............NO .... DAB.

I'm thinking Digital does not equal DAB .... but Digital FM ????

Can anyone clarify.

.

Its a long read ........... but it details the history of DAB in early and later Freelander 2 vehicles.

I think that the "digital" here is a reference to using a digital phase locked loop in the FM tuner ie its a bit of misleading marketing. My current 14 reg has DAB but I rarely use it as the signal where I live is patchy. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Yeah I agree, unfortunately for us it’s not an indication that it has dab

Leeson's expression for single-sideband (SSB) phase noise in dBc/Hz (decibels relative to output level per Hertz) is
L ( f m ) = 10 log ⁡ [ 1 2 ( [ f 0 2 Q l f m ] 2 + 1 ) ( f c f m + 1 ) ( F k T P s ) ] {\displaystyle L\left(f_{m}\right)=10\log \left[{\frac {1}{2}}\left(\left[{\frac {f_{0}}{2Q_{l}f_{m}}}\right]^{2}+1\right)\left({\frac {f_{c}}{f_{m}}}+1\right)\left({\frac {FkT}{P_{s}}}\right)\right]}

where f0 is the output frequency, Ql is the loaded Q, fm is the offset .........

I rest my case ......

and do the still transmit a 19kHz suppressed pilot tone for FM stereo for the difference signal? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
