Fuel Locking Cap

Interested if anyone has a fuel locking cap ? the one that fits on the tank filler neck, not to be confused with the Fuel Locking Body Flap Cover.

I am planning on visiting areas where people may tamper with the fuel flap, trying to remove (I know there is an anti-syphon device fitted) or worse still, add contents to the fuel.

Ed, you know I do my 6 month tour each summer Thumbs Up

Two years ago I did the '500', (that was not searching out all the FL2 Sport LEs Laughing ). It took me 3 moths to do it, but when time is not your master, you can take it at your own pace.
I did France south coast, headed into Monaco to watch F1 GP.. I've done Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain although yet to do Portugal.

I was fortunate, as I purchased a pre-owned unit, guy put it up for 99p start, I was the only bidder, so I won at 99p.

I did read a post that a member had fitted a aftermarket fuel cap resulting in the car throwing up a fault code & the car going into limp mode.

Just a thought but there is a thread on here somewhere about some of the early fuel caps not letting air in as the tank drains and causing a partial vacuum. When you removed the cap there was a rushing in of air. There was a school of thought at the time that some unexplained "reduced power mode" messages were caused by it. Some owners even took to drilling a small hole in the cap or buying a newer one. My latest FL2 has never made the noise when removing the cap.
Just my thoughts on it. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Jack/Dorset, I think the thread you refer to is this ....

Guys, Guys, yes I did my research and am aware of potential 'tank Seal'.

I was after a static/stationary solution for when I am not with the vehicle. When preparing to leave the vehicle I would fit the locking cap, and 'double' lock the vehicle. On my return, do the reverse procedure.

It was never my intention to drive with the locking cap in place.

Thanks for all your comments.
