FR2 SMALL FIRE

Evening all
Problem with my fr2 2008 hse auto 94k
On way home tonight on M8 pulled on to lane 3 to overtake and sudden loss of power pulled over and stoped the car. Started and drove on hard shoulder got of M way and pulled in as smoke was showing in rear view, opened bonnet and small fire at back of engine on left from front poured water went out car still drives
But lots of smoke
Any ideas
Greg.

Yes, if also diesel smell, then possible one of the o-rings of the return pipes from injectors have failed, diesel leaks on the top of the engine and from there to the rear end of the engine, on the hot exhaust manifold.
To be sure, remove the engine's top cover and look/check the diesel return pipes.

Morning
Took engine cover off found 1 of the diesel return pipes had a hole in it. 1st 1 on the left side of engine.
Need a set of return pipes.
Is there anything else I should look at what would cause this to blow a small hole in such a hard pipe.
Greg

Nope, just replace the set and way you go...
That metal valve on the common part of the return system keep a pressure of 10 bars on those pipes.
If one pipe is weak will develop in time some problem like yours. Or the o-ring seal will leak as I've said in previous message.
