Hi Grue
Gotta say I’m really impressed it matches in with centre console colour wise and sits at a perfect height for using gear stick and for £14 delivered (UK) it’s really good value couldn’t justify £100 for wood company one, on an older freelander, if my car was newer then maybe might have pushed the budget up for one.
But very happy with it Thumbs Up

Tinytim
It’s off eBay just search car armrest and loads come up mine is black and very pleased with colour you can get grey or beige
The plastic base I had to trim about 10mm off it so it slides into the square hole thingy at back of console, at moment mines just sitting in but I intend to fix with a few small self tapping screws.
Some people might crib these armrests but my thinking was for the money it was worth a punt Thumbs Up

Hi 993porky
Thanks for reply,I looked on the site for the armrest you sent and all I could see is one's for all other cars and not for Freelander 2 and they all have the metal base. The one that you have fits into the square behind the cup holes in the center console.

Hi ramjet
That listing is the actual one I bought it’s not freelander specific but fits, I didn’t use metal brackets they went in the bin I just trimmed 10mm off plastic base and it then slid into
Square hole in centre dash Thumbs Up
Hope that makes sense

Ramjet it’s worth trying for less than £14
Just remember you need to trim about 10mm from front so it slides in, I used a dremel type cutter but it’s only plastic so can be done with a hacksaw.
Thumbs Up

I'd just like to say thanks to the OP for posting this up.
I bought one thinking that at £14 it was worth a try.

When I first fitted it, I actually found it a bit too low, as I have the driver's seat set quite high, so I fitted the metal brackets and trimmed them to the shape of the sides of the centre console recess. Next, I shaped a block of wood to fit the recess and screwed the metal brackets to the block of wood to bring the armrest up to a height I was happy with.
As the wood is pretty much hidden, I just covered it with black tape.
The block of wood is a tight enough fit in the console, that it requires no additional fixings, and there is enough space on top to put the iPod I connect to the aux socket.
I'm really pleased with it.
