Hi all, just joined this forum after recently buying a very tidy 58 plate black HSE. The previous owner did tell me of a fault with the satnav when I bought it. Basically you can set it up with location etc & all ok. As soon as you pull away & doors lock it resets & will no longer work at all! Any ideas anyone?

Mine will stay on for about half a mile, then go off and back on again, that resets it and it forgets the location I entered, it works fine if you don't enter a location so its not a connection fault.
I was told it most likely to be the head unit under the drivers seat.

It’s more likely to be the FCDIM/touchscreen.
Can’t be sure in pre 2013 but basically the FCDIM is the gateway module and sends commands to other modules along the MOST.
When the car locks the FCDIM send a message to shutdown. Does the screen go off and then the LR Logo reappears? If so this is the system shutting down and re initialising.
You can either get the FCDIM reflashed as it may be a SW glitch or replace the FCDIM with a second hand unit as it may be hardware related. Either way should fix issue whichever it is. MY15

Have you tried switching the auto locking off? Does it still happen?

This sounds about right for mine but im not so sure its related to the locking, at least not related to when you hear the door locks activate.
The bit i dont get is, it only happens when an address is put into the system, get the map screen up and it will stay there all day long, soon as ive entered an address it plays up.
Also when it switches off, the stereo goes off as well then both come back on together.
