I got rid of 4 Nokian Weatherproof SUV halfway through their life due to dreadful perishing (New tyres were provided by Nokian under warranty) even though they were only 2.5 years old. They had also broke down internally and were causing noises that increased with turning (exactly the same as wheel bearings).

It might be worth swapping front and rear tyres over as you could have a noisy one. I have had rear diff problem, noisy rear wheel bearing and a noisy rear tyre and they all sounded the same to me. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Thanks all for the suggestions. @Pedro good thinking. Might be. I don’t recall the Nokians being over noisy but could well have masked the development of this whine/drone. I was impressed initially with them but they seemed to go off quickly once they started to wear.
