2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

Tyre place unable to align rear wheels

Hi
They couldn't align the rear wheels as something was seized.
Said they'd need to cut something off and replace bolt and part.
I was wondering if anyone could advise me what to lubricate/whack/loosen?

Hi mate,where abouts are you? Place up by me does them.

Otherwise if you look underneath you will see a nut with large washer sitting in elongated hole by each wheel ths is what they adjusted on mine when on computer. Needed BIG spanner though If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Crawl under and look as it should be quite obvious. Shame the garage did not show you the issue and it’s a known problem.

If you search on here or the net you will find the workshop manual and it will contain a exploded diagram of the rear arms going to the rear struts and the adjustment points. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Did you go to a main dealership or a local independent ?
Its not uncommon for suspension parts with screw threads to be become seized especially if never properly lubricated which they wont have been if only serviced by garages. Best way of cracking the seize is to apply heat and expand the outer thread. You need to find someone who knows what they are doing. I'd try a independent suspension firm.

The rear most transverse link (there are 2 transverse links each side) has an eccentric bolt at the inner end and allows adjustment of toe.
