I know it didn’t take them much to do it but it does look very good in the advert.

for a 12 year old car with that sort of mileage it looks immaculate in the photos, no sign of the drivers seat collapse the earlier ones are prone to and it has the highly desirable Xenons Very Happy

just checked the MOT history and whilst the mileage does match up, the first recorded MOT was 2011 where it had 772 miles on the clock.... Question

In the past this vehicle has had

1/ Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components
Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay

2/Nearside Front brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened
Offside Front brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened
Nearside Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened
Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened
Rear Brake pad(s) wearing thin
oil leak

3/ Nearside Front Headlamp aim too high

4/ Nearside Rear Brake pad(s) wearing thin
Offside Rear Brake pad(s) wearing thin
at only 15,500mls

This vehicle IMHO has seen some action.

1) under trays and engine covers are routine 'advisories' on most MOT these days so not a worry
2) new brakes all round and an oil leak could be due to lack of mileage and oil seals drying out
3) headlamp is nothing to worry about
4) rear brake pads wearing thin at that mileage would require more investigation as to the cause definitely.

I wouldn't say its seen some action but something about the mileage doesn't add up... starting with the 772 miles the first 4 years

tax ran out last May

So it could have been brought and then just left parked up for some reason

Not registered with DVLA until Jan 2011 so has perhaps been previously used overseas, ex mod etc etc. It might have "lost" some mileage before it was first registered in the UK or had a new speedo fitted to convert from KM to miles. Still a tidy car whetever its history. Thumbs Up

It's registration prefix would indicate that it was a development/press vehicle, registered by JLR according to my neighbour who works in the Press Office at Gaydon.

Its a rare one.
I once came across a FL1 in Stratford on Avon, that was an early model (1997-), although it had a 2002 plate on it. I later found out it was a LR vehicle that was not released to public ownership until that early model had ceased production and the new 02MY had been released.

Back to the plates underneath - who adds underbody protection just so his Mrs can take a child (vehicle was also fitted with ISOFix child seat) to shop and school ??

RogB ...... that is what made me believe "it has seen some action" Exclamation

I think they are referring to the lower engine plate that you have to remove when doing an oil/filter change - nothing sinister, most cars have some kind of dirt/sound protection shield fitted to them nowdays anyway.

As said above, it’s a standard CYA from the tester in case something is later discovered behind them. Personally, I don’t bother putting it on the certs - we are not allowed to remove anything that needs tools during the test so if say, a brake pipe bursts or a steering joint falls apart, if it’s behind a non-removable shield I’m not going to get into any trouble for not seeing it. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Present: Audi A3 S Line.

Indeed. Nice car, I’d have bought it. They are 41000 mile seats for sure. The undertray is a standard advisory. That’s been looked after👍 SD4 HSE Lux
