Great trip. I couldn't & wouldn't want to drive 1200 km each day let alone one day only! It took us 12 days to drive 4000 km to Kakadu which we wanted to do quickly before the tourist plague! We were delayed a week because I badly sprained my ankle not seeing a missing metal grate across a footpath. Then in Katoomba I was mildly hit by a car & same foot run over on a zebra crossing. Person drove off before I could get the rego.

There are lots of seriously large vehicles out there with every last thing they can possibly bolt onto the vehicle. Most are likely a lot over compliance weight! They have huge tyres & huge suspension lift. Various states are starting to crack down on this. The Freelander looks like a toy car next to them.

If I can find an easier route to get somewhere I will choose that rather than trying to wreck the car to prove a point. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
