United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Baltic Blue
Hello.

Looks like I'm joining the FL2 club.
Looking at picking up a 13 plate XS 2.2 SD4 Auto 190BHP with 50k on the clock on Wednesday.
Been reading the topics and looks like this is the best option engine wise, I also had a long lists of requirements including
Full leather
Sat Nav
DAB
Auto
Heated seats
Towbar

Found a few that didn't quite hit the spot, the only thing this one doesn't have is arm rests and I have read on here you cannot retro sit them ?
The first thing is to add a reversing camera to help with hitching up, again, on here I have read about the box I can get so I can use the built in Sat Nav screen rather than adding another screen on the dash.

Does anyone chip them to get better MPG/torque ?

Looking forward to your replies and joining in here.

Welcome to the madhouse Very Happy

The XS is a great spec with enough toys to suit most people. But it didn't come as standard with a rear view camera, only the HSE LUX/Metropolis came with it as standard. So if yours has it as a factory fit then it was specced up by the first owner.

As for armrests, no you cant retro fit them but you could a) buy a set of seats 2nd hand and fit them yourself or b) buy a bolt in single armrest that screws to the centre console between the seats

New seats will cost a few hundred quid, and then you have the issues of fitting them and if they are compatible with the wiring looms etc etc. The armrest is about £100 and takes about 30 mins maximum to fit.... I know which I would do

remapping has been done to death on here, pros and cons, some are for it and some are against it. I have remapped my Evoque SD4 which is the same engine (but mine is manual) and the difference is very noticeable. Improved smoother performance, better mid range pull and about 5mpg extra. In standard form the SD4 Auto is good though, best combination. Thumbs Up

My 2014 XS has arm rests which I assumes was standard, even my wife's 56 plate Peugeot 207 has them!. As for remapping the SD4 auto feels fine for me 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

Thanks.

Have seen that you can use the screen as a camera with an added box inline, so if no camera I will be doing that, as for armrests I'm leaving that.
