I get a few drops of rain on the luggage cover in a very heavy downpour so the suggestion it's the top brake light sounds plausible. |

I get a little water on the luggage cover, too, at times. Not enough to make me stand in the rain trying to figure out the source, though! |

Had a look and the seal looks fine except for years of crap around it. Cleaned the fitting up, removed moss growth from body, put a smear of silicon grease on seal and re-fitted. Time will tell. I followed the Haynes book re removing the fitting ie all the tailgate trim then I watch a video where the guy just pulls the bit out that hides the fitting. |

I have just change my tailgate brake light... instant cure and at around £50, its only ten quid a year to keep the boot dry. |

A bit of left over silicone would give the same result so are you suggesting you binned a perfectly serviceable part. |

No.. it was a partly serviceable part. Had it been simply the bulb I would have fitted a new bulb of course but, try as I did, I couldn't find a Land Rover part number for Silicon, leaking brake light repair.

A lot less than that Nut when I did mine and to finish off a dab of vehicle paint quality type silicone ensures it won’t need doing again ! That’s the silicone that costs slightly more Nomad as it’s not acidic, Unlike some coments currently being thrown around |
