Pressure washer recommendation

So it looks like my Karcher 520M pressure washer has squirted its last, Not sure exactly what the issue is with it , motor running constantly, not shutting off and no pressure from the lance. Tried removing and cleaning the spill valve to no avail, possibly needs seals replacing somewhere but Ive had it for 10+ years so maybe not worth the fixing.

What do you recommend as a replacement, another Karcher? something different? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I had a Karcher and it failed just out of warranty(1 year). When I opened it up all the pump parts was made of plastic. I bought a Nilfisk and never had a moments problem with it, all metal pump parts, 3 years warranty. If I was to buy another pressure washer I’d go for a Nilfisk again. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Nilfisk Thumbs Up

Mine had a problem outside its warranty - rang Nilfisk, explained the issue - they sent a brand new part (complete lance with wifi control) FOC.

Cant complain at that. Jules

I bought a petrol and rhe power is astonishing. Cant get it near paint though.
I had a Karacher for 17 years and it was brilliant. Bought a cheaper replacement from B&Q and its useless and already failed at 15 months and replacement part not available so had to pay to get a part made Jaguar x-type sport gone

The Nilfisk also came with a cleaner head which I've used to strip all the paint off my wooden gates down to bare wood prior to repainting. Do not use the cleaner head on your car !!

and a patio cleaner which also works very well indeed.

If you go for Nilfisk I wouldnt bother with the models with a built-in hose reel (its easier to loop the hose on a hook or similar and when cold it doesnt roll up well anyway) or the wifi power control (its a gimmick IMO and eats batteries). Jules

karcher industrial 3 phase for farm and cheapo vax for patio when dragging the karcher to farmhouse is a chore.

ive got a Nilfisk as well, probably because it was much cheaper than a Karcher or even the cockney model Gertcha Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

the lance nozzle on mine doesn't work too well, the little metal bits move okay but its like it has a blockage which I have failed to shift, yet it looks like there' s nowt that could go wrong with it , tried poking the nozzle hole, and steeping it in water, still sprays wrong imo Whistle 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

After numerous Karchers over the years, usually leaked after awhile, did well to get two years out of them, five years ago went over to Nilfisk, no issues. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Noticed a banner outside local Wickes advertising big discounts on Karcher pressure washer if anyone was still in the market for one. Didn't go in so no idea which model, just noticed the '£50' saving type of heading
And my local Lidl ' middle aisles' are presently stocked with cycle stuff - Muc Off cleaner, chain lubricants, silicon oil sprays and such like
