Latest sat nav update advice for FL2 XS 2013

Hi all,
would really appreciate any/all advice on how to to update my FL2 XS sat nav with the latest firmware/software, as well as the best way and where to obtain it... preferably the cheapest too! It really is not much kop as it is.

Many thanks in advance,

Frank.

It depends upon the spec and age of your car, so you need to supply more information.

Your profile says you have a 2008 GS which I assume is out of date as you mentioned having an XS.

The very latest version of their Sat Nav (from 2012) uses a USB update and that can be acquired from ebay for about £100 it would seem.

But it will still be a pretty clunky and not very intuitive Sat Nav system compared to others.

The Sat Nav in our Mk7 Fiesta is very easy to use though. Shame JLR didnt use more recent Ford systems in their cars. Jules

Hi Jules thanks for the info.

First I have not updated my profile since acquiring latest LR so will see to that now.

I think it's a bit lame they have not done a more recent update since 2012. With that being the case, I probably have that latest version on mine then anyway.

Re LR sat nav systems in general, I kind of realised they're a bit clunky, so am now wondering if it's possible to upload third party (presumably better) software onto their system?.... Or would it be a case having to purchase a separate sat nav in order to have something half decent?

Really appreciate your feedback and others,
Cheers, Frank.
