Hi folks. Thought i would throw this in to the mix. What are your thoughts on removing the standard fog bulbs and replacing with led,s. Then utilising exsisting fog wires to feed drl from sepreate feed via controller. 1. can you get leds with same fitment plug as fogs. 2. Is it easy to find the standard fog wires where presumably they come up from the fogs in to the engine bay and re route them to fuse box and controller. 3. Would it effect an mot issue. Look forward to your views. |

Different lighting, different rules surely... fogs should only work in conjunction with other lights whereas DRLs should only work in the absence of any other lighting being selected on. I think. My wife's Hyundai i10 factory fit drls are very low down on the bumper valance - around the fog lights. |

Thanks for your replies so far folks. Looking at most modern cars there does not seem to be any logic in were they fit these lamps. You see them in many varied locations. If you look at aftermarket versions they come with measurements were you are supposed to fit them, height, width, etc. Will keep watching with interest. |

I’m not sure I understand the desire to replace fogs with DRLs. If you want day-time lights, surely the best solution is to change to “Scandinavian” mode (which Torssell above presumably already has!) and have the dipped headlights on all the time, so that you still have fogs when you need them. It’s also a much simpler solution, needing only a single change in the CCF settings. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Yes, three options (well, three on my MY 2010 FL2, there could be more options on yours!). Standard operation, dipped lights always on and dipped lights always on except for position P. I have mine set for that last one as it is what I became used to on various Saabs and Volvos.

These are great. They retain the fog lamp function and also have proper DRL’s.
