Window not working properly?

Hi all, one of my Freelander windows has stopped working. Goes down about half inch and stops. Any ideas?

Fairly common as they get older the window mechanism fails - I ended up changing both fronts on ours
Not a big job - couple of hours if it's not raining.

The motor usually outlasts the rest of the mechanism - pulleys failed on both of ours, but don't be tempted to do half a job, buy the whole mechanism.

Sorted it! Apparently they can be 'reset'.

You hold the button in the up position for 1 minute and that clears the fault. Worked for me.

Yes its called recalibrating the window.

Acts on all windows.

This has been extensively documented previously on this forum.

Use the search first Rolling Eyes

I did. While it said they could be reset, it DIDN'T tell me how to do it. That would have been quite handy, instead it was a waste of space....

It’s all in your handbook that comes with your car, or is that a waste of space as well ? 🤷‍♀️ FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

But you can’t get the manual to give you the answer, you have to read and understand it. Much easier to ask on a forum.

So salty guys. Aren't we here to help each other out? The LR manuals aren't always clear in their layout and info. And forum search doesn't always return what you're looking for if you don't use the right word. I sometimes struggle to recall the proper technical word for what I'm looking for - usually there's someone on the forum that can work out what I'm talking about.

The greatness of the human mind and human communication. That's why we had apprenticeships and on the job training, not just learning from books.

Just a thought.

Have an out-of-the-garage 2019 everyone.
