Really laughable It must be time to law inforce winter tyres for winter use in the UK
I have driven a similar merc in the video in much worse conditions in Norway, but with absoluty NO problems when fitted fitted with proper winter tyres l 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

You lot over there are more used to it so get more chance to drive in it and enhance your skills. Unfortunately we don't normally get that much that often, but it is still a joke when London gets a few cm's of the stuff and the whole country grinds to a halt.

Snow tyres would be a great idea, but unenforsable without manned road blocks checking each and every car. In a country where the police sit in their stations waiting for a serious crime/accident to be committed because they can't afford the fuel for the patrol cars, it will never happen.  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Maybe the insurance companies can inforce it somehow, like they do with technical inspections in our country: not done = you'll automatically be at fault in an accident.

Just returned from giving mrs avtur a lift to work, snow isn't too bad around here.

It is very frustrating to see all the selfish individuals driving with no more than peep-hole vision. They clear the windscreen with the wipers, don't touch any of the other windows and leave the lights covered as well.

I saw a few peep hole drivers this morning, pathetic as some were driving past schools with kids running around having snowball fights

Only around an inch on top of the car this morning, and all gone by mid-morning

Although it's all supposed to be coming from the East all I've got is a few mm of slushy stuff. Nothing worth clearing off the FL2 to go out for a drive

My lad has been sent home from his work in Luton, so they must think it's quite bad though.

Just done a recovery with the commercial.
An Audi A4 avant trying to come up a single track had slid backwards into the hedge. Hooked the tow rope onto front of each vehicle, pulled him out and straightened him up so he could reverse back down the lane a I could carry on having fun in the snow. 2009 Grey HSE Auto

Went for a lunch time drive

Snow completly melted, even on back roads

Been snowing for the last 3 hours

Still not settled much more

Is it just me who likes the snow, heard a weather report saying that it was the worst snow for 18 years, don't they mean the best ? And even that is supprising, round here anyway.
