changing timing belt/water pump

Hello, hoping to get some advice when changing timing belt on my Freelander 2 2007. I just received my DAYCO timing belt kit.

1) Water pump gasket looks to be made out of metal. is it best to install gasket as it is or would a sealant will also be required? if a sealant is good practice what would you recommend?

2) The DAYCO kit did not come with a replacement crankshaft bolt. is it OK to re-use the same bolt or is it preferred to buy a new crankshaft bolt?

I, for one, I've used just a tad of black silicone on each side of that metal gasket, and reused the bolt.

I used no silicone, and fitted a new bolt

Sealant is unnecessary, and the crank bolt is a stretch type. If the bolt is still within spec, it can be reused, but it's £4 for a new one. Not worth the risk IMO
