Hi folks, won't bore you with the photos but a few weeks ago a lorry backed into the freelander putting a big gouge in the bonnet and smashing the bumper.

I witnessed an incident where someone had just picked up a brand new Triumph Herald and was driving it off the showroom forecourt when his foot slipped off the clutch and the car shot out into the road and straight under a lorry. The driver got out of the car, uninjured physically and just stood leaning on the remnants of his car crying his eyes out. The total distance he drove the car on the road (excluding the distance to get off the forecourt) was the length of the car.

Could be a Freelander thing - overnight someone side swiped the back corner of my car, causing quite a bit of damage, then drove off leaving the trim from their van as a souvenir. I had it all fixed under my insurance, which took a week. I had it home 2 days before someone else drove into the front of it whilst it was parked, claiming they thought they were in reverse. They paid for it, but the garage couldn’t believe it 😂 |

One thing to watch with this sort of thing is that it can affect your insurance. A few years ago I had a couple of shunts which were clearly not my fault and the other side paid up so no claims were made but the following year my insurance company refused to renew my insurance on the grounds that I was unlucky! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
