Yes it can be confusing having saved paying a dealer to clear the service message.

All you can do is make sure you note the date and miles when you went on your Brazilian adventure.

Every time my service message appears on the dash without fail my oil service visit dealer also pops up 5 days later

Had service warning popping up despite car being allegedly serviced three weeks ago. So I tried this method and no message displayed. So OK so far. I’m starting to wonder was this service done at all? Or is it just a glitch? I will get a mate to check oil and filter for me. Don’t really trust dealers even if they have a job number for it and have updated the OSH.

On a brighter note bought a used genuine LR boot mat for £25 off Gumtree. Looked a little grey. Quick wash and scrub then a spray of tyre dressing and polished up, looks like new. Result !
