hi all im new to the forum so any advice would be welcome. my freelander is poorly and needs help i have a massive electronics problem it started with abs warning light so booked it in to the garage they did a test and i needed a new battery £150 later its worse now the engine management light is on as well as the warning light and abs light back to the garage they sent cluster off and abs pump for test £160 abs came back working ok so then sent cluster off to cluster repairs .co.uk they sent it back not working cant repair £40 so brought a new one £700 had it coded in at the local electronic garage £120 still not working back to the electronic garage full diagnostic £120 result new abs pump needed the cheapest i can find £1700 but before i spend more money i would like your opinion as the electronic engineer is the most miserable unhelpful person on the planet many thanks terry a

Pretty new owner myself and not too sharp under the bonnet but I do know when a car starts costing you that sort of money, it’s time to think about a change. I had a BMW e30 touring which started like that, head gasket, clutch etc. Got to the stage where I was spending more than the car was worth. So off it went. Having said that there are plenty of members here who can offer better advice and point you in the direction of a good LR independent garage or specialist. As for engineer bin him. You don’t mention model, year and mileage which would help. Hope you get it sorted out.

He probably knows his stuff then as good aritzans get off dealing with numpties with no money ( no personal slur intended its just an observation of life in general). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
