I read their product details page.....how exactly does a 20mm spacer give a 40mm lift as claimed a number of times? |

I found that a little confusing, as well as thinking why would you do a demonstration video without first practicing the process?

The tyre contact centre line is further out that the vertical line down the shocks hence the lift is roughly twice the spacers thickness. It is strange, but it is just what happens.

I can well recommend these spacers, I were at a LR-meet this weekend and did some offroading really giving them a vicious try-out.

That Fl2lift site must have some terrible SEO. Since moving to QLD I've been searching high and low. Cant wait to get these.

Hi Uncleron, thanks for your excellent post. I am figuring out how to raise my ground clearance as well. As yourself, I started with higher tyres. I opted for 235/70/R17, giving me 12 mm. I looked at 245/70/R17, as it gives double and there are much more tyres available. However I didn't go for this as I was afraid that the 5% increase in circumference way exceeded the maximum of 2.5% (I am at 3.2% now). Did you not have any problems with your drivetrain since fitting these tyres? Also, have you fitted the 245 tyres on the 235 rims? Do you get any traction improvement out of the additional with? |

Vesko and I have been running 245/70/17 for quite a while with no issues. In NSW Australia you can legally increase tyre diameter by up to 7% and that size is under that limit. The difference off road is great and on road performace seems the same. I didn't buy this car as a sports car. |

On my last holiday around Australia I saw 2 Toyota Landcruisers bogged, once they set the correct tyre pressure they were out without any additional equipment. I did not get bogged or stuck once with the crap original tyres that came with my new car but I always set the tyre pressure for the surface I was driving on. Including a couple of times with the bottom of the car on sand. I would not have put the car in the difficult situation if I did not have recovery equipment. Now running 255 tyres which are 3% larger diameter than the 235 & the car's speedo is still 2% under the correct speed according to the GPS. Wish I have 17" rims as there are more options. Hi All, thank for all the great stories on suspension lift in this thread. I would very much like to lift my FL2 as well. There's now a set by Muddy Mods that looks very decent and affordable. (30 mm front and 40 mm rear) (https://www.muddymods.com/collections/freelander-2/products/freelander-2-30mm-front-40mm-rear-lift-kit-2006-onwards)

I haven't fitted a lift kit yet but I believe if you fit wheel spacers aswell it helps with the handling |
