England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black
235/55/19 vs 235/65/19

How much difference would it make to my speedo reading etc between the 55 and 65 profiles ?

reason for asking is that camskill.co.uk have Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season in 235/55/19 for £140 and Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season for £89 (both tyre only, not fitted)

4 tyres means a saving £200 which is not to be ignored IMO

brilliant thanks Lightwater

think im right in thinking the 65 profile will effectively lift the car by about an inch (1.8'' overall height difference in tyres) and add about 3-4 mph difference between actual and true mph ??

With the 65 profile, the lift on you car will be just short of an inch (23.5mm) and your speedo will probably run close to true. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

So any downsides to the 65 profile will be negligible, and ill get a fraction higher ground clearance (its for an Ewok which IIRC has about an inch less ground clearance that the FL2 in standard form)

next question then has anybody got any experience of Camskill ? at £90 a pop for a Pirelli Verde all season that seems almost too good to be true.

im guessing fitting will be around £50 for all 4 tyres so approx. £410 all in. Question

Unless you know a good tyre fitter, be aware that they might want to overcharge you.
Bit like buying your steak from the butcher and taking it to your favourite restaurant and asking them to cook it for you.

Personally, I've got a good relationship with my tyre fitter, I tell him what I can get the tyres for and see if he can come close on price matching .... they normally come close enough and chuck in the fitting/balancing with the deal.
And everyone's happy Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

yes I have very good indy that I use, everything from tyre fittings to Disco 3 body off turbo replacements so they know what they are doing and don't charge the earth (they aren't the cheapest around but I trust them 100%)

now to try and justify the new rubber to myself as it had 4 new tyres on when I bought it 4000miles ago but they are cheap Compasil ones which to be fair seem ok but ive not tried them in the severe rain or anything yet.

your right.... £54 for a Verde all season

but....

DOT 2014 or DOT 2013 ??

Im assuming that means manufactured in 2013/2014 so that means the tyres are already 4/5 years old and have been stored.
is 5 years in storage worth it or safe to put on ?

That's a long time stored somewhere Rog and who knows in what conditions.
Followed link off here the other day to mytyres on eBay and had some good deals there so might be worth a look.

Reading the article posted on here not long back it said tyres should be changed at 6yrs regardless of tread so does that count even if they not on car? If so,a tyre bought *new* could have just a few years road life. Posted by Arctic on Sept. 11th Thumbs Up If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

im not desperate for the tyres to be swapped, the budgets put on by the dealer still have lots of life left in them. But im not a fan of budget tyres, only cheap decent branded tyres.

on my first ever 4x4 (Frontera 2.2 DTI Limited Very Happy ) I had 2 x continental fitted on the back 'new' and then noticed within days they were cracked all round the walls. The garage changed them for a different make at my expense, and sent the conti's back to the factory for inspection and 2 months later I got a refund. Turned out they were old stock and shouldn't have been supplied to the garage.
