My 14 reg Xs had footwell light holders but no bulbs fitted?
Could it be landrover cost cutting at factory 😉

I have mentioned this a few times already.....footwell lamps wiring is dependant of ICE level as its part of the main dash ICE harness. If your S, GS, XS is specified with Highline ICE then the wiring will be there. If you have the lowline ICE it will not. MY15

Just thought I'd share a picture of my footwell lights. Really happy given the cost. MY11 SD4 HSE.

Silly question i'm sure to a lot of you, but my bulbs have just arrived (Osram LED's), and I am unsure if they need to go in with a particular polarity orientation +/- but I can't see labeled on the bulb a +/-. Is it therefore a matter of put in anyway and they will work, please? Freelander 2 XS 2013

Dom, Fit the bulbs, if they work job done, if they don't work take them out and turn them round 180 degrees and refit them. They should now work Thumbs Up

Hi dondiddy, thank you for clarifying. Will try them out this evening and if all goes to plan will post a pic although that means I should really clean the footwells first. Shocked Freelander 2 XS 2013

Went in all fine first time. Makes a huge difference to the internal looks. Very Happy Only thing is it makes the other interior lights look so dull, so they are next to be upgraded to LED's.

My 64 plate SE Tech had holders but no bulbs. I fitted LED bulbs. One has to say the bulb holders are really cheap n' nasty bits of plastic, stapled to the air vent. Very "low rent" IMO. Jules

I've currently got my hands on a brand new Discovery 5 while mine is in at the dealership, and I have noticed that the rear seats have footwell lights located under the front two seats. As I don't have my car on hand to check, does anybody know if the Freelander 2 has rear footwell lights please as I really like this feature on the D5. Very Happy

Hi dondiddy, that's a shame but thank you for confirming. While it is a nice aesthetic I'm not sure it is worth the hassle.

To see one's ingrown toenails, why bother!

On the other hand if the lights stayed on long enough if would be useful for maintenance.

You could have a quick look upwards in the foot well you will easily find a fitting for these bulbs. I took the bulbs out of my car as they were more of a pain than benefit for extended camping.
