Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Barolo Black

245/70/17 look well in those tyres, proper balancing will be needed afterwards though & i'm unsure it if it will cure the steering wheel wobble I have at 70mph.

I have been 'researching' new tyres for the Freelander, its going to need a set before winter and had finally decided on these in 235/65/17 only to discover they are only T rated Big Cry
Seem like a great tyre though but obviously not for an SD4!
My other shortlisted tyres are General Grabber AT3, Michelin lattitude cross or Pirelli Scorpion ATR.
Dare I ask peoples views on the above? Whistle Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

So you be doing 120mph on a regular basis and in winter conditions.

I believe the top speed of the SD4 is 118mph.

I had a chipped sd4 and still had those tyres. My reasoning at the time was I would be lucky if I ever did 90 when the temp was low or snow/ice on the road.

I'm using General Grabber AT3 in 245/70/17 and they are fine. I won them in a contest. They aren't noisey but they are still relatively new although the tread isn't very chunky so I doubt they will be. You can tell they are off road tyres by looking at them so they give the car a bit of a tougher look. The Pirelli's almost look like a road tyre but I've heard good things about them.

No I won't be doing 118 mph, but insurance could be invalidated if using tyres which are not approved ie, not correct speed rating. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
