Haha

Haha i have read enough to understand the context of that comment.

However, as a school teacher paying over 3k for a weeks holiday, i am happy enough in my decision to deal with others opinions.

To make him feel better, except for a quick run to the tunnel, i will be Censored off the French mainly and not slowing traffic in this country Smile

welcome and nice spec you have there. guessing you bought from LR Approved in which case the warranty is excellent, LR Assist are even better (just request a LR technician if you need them rather than an AA technician)

you should be able to find a tow bar pretty easily, and the electrics on yours are just plug and play with a compatible loom

as has been said, sit back and enjoy it Thumbs Up

Thanks Ian!

I look forward to picking it up on Saturday.

Now have the fun of finding a tow bar for a caravan.

Appreciate the comments, I shall leave her OEM.

Thumbs Up

At 40K miles you might want to consider a Haldex filter and oil change as a preventative measure against JLR's assertion that the Haldex doesnt require a service (unlike for other car's where the Haldex is a scheduled service item) and a very expensive replacement. I am not sure about it being wise to spend any extra while it's under warranty.

Built into the buying price is about £1500, being the cost of LR taking the risk of it breaking for 2 years.

Even after that, you need to compare the price of additional maintenance against that of replacement of failed item.

As above, LR seems to price this risk at below £750 per year. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

agreed, warranty will cover Haldex, rear diff and anything else likely to go wrong for the 2 years so no need for anything other than routine servicing and tyres maybe. As soon as it out of warranty then get the preventative stuff done like Haldex service and diff fluid changes.
