Sale Prices

Hey folks. New job with much shorter commute has made me consider selling the FL2 so wondered about sale prices.

It's a December 2010 GS manual TD4 facelift. It's in used condition, ie it has some light marks in the paint plus a scuff on the corner front bumper (the plastic bit) but only affects the paint, not the plastic.

67k on the clock and a new clutch less than 1000 miles ago.

Has a full spare set of alloys plus a full sized spare.

Any idea would be appreciated - I don't know whether or not a private sale would be worth the extra work or go to WBAC and get knocked down on all the wee marks! It's really how the bumper scuff and clutch etc affect the price, if at all, that I don't know about.

Cheers folks. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

If you go down the WBAC route, take a look at thecarbuyinggroup.co.uk. I got shot of my Forester through them, better price negotiated, their driver turns up at an agreed time, gives the car a very brief once over and provided there's nothing significantly wrong, he calls his office and they pay funds into your account before he leaves. None of this taking the car to them and having to battle away to get a decent price

Thanks. Just taken a look at that and it is the same as WBAC in that it assumes perfect condition except there I can't see any option to add any form of use/damage, so it's not a realistic estimate. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Midlothian !! You might need it in a few weeks Very Happy
I'm debating on a trip up there next weekend before heading North Thumbs Up

Was there someone asking about a Freelander on here? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

If you can keep it till mid November then sell it you will find that you will get a far better price, also why not get the likes of dentmaster to sort the marks first ?

New clutch will add nothing apart from punter interest. Adds ons like a full spare mean siltch at sale time.

Are you going to offer it privately with a guarantee nothing will fail in a few weeks, no you are not so your choices are: Keep it, take the easy WBAC type deal, chip it in against a different car or sell it privately at up to 2K less than you can buy one for on Autotrader from a dealer.

If your car was showroom condition its human nature to ask for a few £s off and WBAC will do the same, they do need to hit targets and you could get lucky on the offer price given you and you do not have to accept any other offer.

No offence but adverts on here need to include a price and the way you have worded your request could be seen as fishing for a customer. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

You are completely mistaken Yorky Smile No intention of trying to sell it on here and it isn't an advert. Purely looking for advice.

But yes, it ain't showroom condition, but keeping it isn't a great plan I think. My new commute will be about 3 miles each way in stop start traffic. But I will still need a small 4x4 so maybe considering a petrol Duster or something similar. It's no FL2 but possibly a sensible option for what I now need. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

And yes I was going to cost up getting some bits sorted and a proper detailing, but only if it was cost effective. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Yup, last winter was absolutely brutal up here, hence still needing a 4x4, just not an FL2 I think. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I have just given up an 80 mile daily commute and now work from home and have just come back to the Freelander fold precisely as I am no longer doing the mileage at 30 to the gallon and can enjoy the Freelander on the more limited mileage I will be doing. Call me perverse!!

When I sold my BMW I went to WBAC initially. They made me a rock bottom offer which I declined. I had a few bumper scuffs sprayed for £300 and I sold it on Gumtree (within 24hrs) for £1500 more than the WBAC offer. The buyer was happy too because he could see from my collection of receipts and photos that it had been well maintained. WBAC have no interest really in that aspect of the car - just what it looked like. Jules
