LR Warranty - yes or no?

Still very happy with my now aged ('57) Fl2. Now with 80k on the clock it's time to consider renewing the LR warranty (have had, and used one, several times since relevant). Now only eligible for the reduced cover version so question is; save the £760 and keep fingers crossed, or continue contributing and feel a little more secure? Anyone had any experience of practical unexpected limitations when trying to claim which might throw the value of the lesser warranty into doubt?
I really had meant to change the beastie by now, but just lulled into keeping it as it's absolutely spot on for my needs and, despite being in excellent condition, it's now worth beans, so why change.

Id be tempted to put the money away if you can spare it.
It would be a decent chunk off any big bill you may come across and if you dont need to use it for a car repair youve always got it to spend or put towards a new car? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Are the LR warranties dependant on servicing by a LR dealer? I’m pretty sure the one on my Evoque was. If they are, you also have to add to that warranty cost the difference in price between a LR service and a good independent. Did you have the 10 year service on it last year? My service and warranty plan ended last October and I refused the £960 premium for another years warranty and I’m now just weeks away from truly saving that amount. No doubt for me it would have been well over a grand for my Evoque this year plus the cost of a LR dealer service. I’ve just bought all the parts (gen OE) plus quality oil to do my own major service this year for £130. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Very easy. I start by drawing off as much fluid as possible from the master cylinder reservoir (saves bleeding it through the system). Better still if you can remove the reservoir, empty, wash out and dry it thoroughly (I use compressed air then the hand drier at work but a hair drier would be as good if you did it at home). Make sure it is completely dry if you are washing it out and give it a final rinse with fresh brake fluid. Refit the reservoir, fill with fresh fluid and starting from the furthest away, bleed the brakes using a clear pipe on the bleed nipple until the fluid runs clear - you will see the difference. Repeat on the other wheels until you finish on the shortest run from the cylinder. You can buy an easybleed kit to help you or with just a clear pipe, a milk bottle and a couple of helpers (one pumping the pedal, the other keeping the reservoir topped up), you can bleed it easily in about 10 minutes. A litre and a half of DOT4 brake fluid should be more than enough to do the job. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Halfords did my brake fluid change for £37, by the time I bought the fluid to do it myself it was just not worth getting my hands dirty.
