Just had a renewal notice from LV for 280 on 2011 FL2 GS, went on their website and can get the same cover for 240.
Incidentally a retired lady is a good addition as a driver on any policy, my wife is on all of my kids' policies ranging from Porsche 911, L200 Pickup truck, FL2 and various family cars most of which she has never driven and it has the added benefit that on her insurance she can say that she has the use of 5 other vehicles. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Renewal coming up mid month with LV at 315.58p it was 251.96 last year and no claims etc.

Called them and lifted the mileage up to 12,000 from 10,000 pa for me and the missus ( covers her business use) and got them to knock the renewal price down and now around 299. Anyone doing better with a good insurer this year ? So far found that Direct Line are around 293. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

So with no replies re better quotes its back to LV then.

Seems my missus is getting out of visiting a satellite office so just cut out the business miles usage and back at 10,000 miles per year. New online quote comes in at 287.39p. In all a 14.06% increase Censored My company pension went up 0% this year, are they taking the Censored or what.

(fully comp with 150 voluntary excess and protected but none of the other add on's). FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Renewal time again with LV, last year it went up 14% and this coming year they want another 23% (remember the write off from new value is now well down). The insurance industry is obviously taking the Censored !

So any good deal around ? FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

My son recently renewed the insurance on his 2010 Audi A5 2.0TDi convertible. He is 25 with max 8 years no claims and no points (but no insurance company will protect his no claims due to age !)

His insurance at his own address went up by nearly 400, no matter which company he looked at.

Out of curiosity he put in my address, parked on the drive overnight, which is 4miles different from his address.... and his quote went down by about 80....... BUT.......... if he put it in my garage overnight it went up by nearly 300 !!!

so they wanted more off him to garage it overnight securely instead of parking it on the drive.

Insurance industry is just a complete rip off shambles, doing whatever they want, however they want

So a couple of hours later and a few other sites and put all my details back into a new quote on LV. Now comes out under a 10% increase instead of 23%. I can stand that as I used to get a 2 policy discount and insurance tax went up a few months ago but why oh why do we have to go through all of this carp. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Coop ECO Insurance - Buyer Beware

Coop ECO Insurance - Buyer Beware

Turns out some company looking like the genuine Coop is not and looks cheap for a renewal via brokers but Coop only deal direct. You get what you pay for and some reviews are not good.

They are underwritten by the Coop group and it stops there. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

So having fought LV for the last few years about the % increase and then ended up 2016 14%, then 2017 10% this year they want 5.5% to give a 2018 renewal of £333.36.

Going online LV say it can be done for £276.66. Banging Head Direct Line (wife's TT insured now with them) can do very similar cover for £253.12.

LV its time to tell you to stick your car insurance where the sun does not shine. Shocked FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

YB they sent me my renewal for £287.97 so went on line as new customer and got quoted £ 243.60 Rang them up and tried giving me some nonsense about dash cam and reversing sensors but in end said they would match it.

Straight onto to cash back site and got it with £21.00 back so £222.60. really Thumbs Up If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

I have just renewed with LV for £240, self plus wife 12k miles /year on my 2014 XS. OK so far.
This morning my wife gets a renewal quote from LV for her 56 plate Peugeot 207 doing 4k miles/year for £232.50. So a car which lives in a locked garage (the FL2 is on the drive) doing 1/3 of the mileage and probably worth 10% of the value of the FL2 is only £7.50 cheaper? How does this work? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

Might be worth trying LV's multicar policy and seeing what that comes up with as a combined price? Might work out or might not depending on which underwriters they use - I know they use different ones for different policy types which will make a difference to the prices. FL No 1 - 2012 (MY2011) XS manual Firenze Red - Gone

Just had a renewal notice from Aviva. £398 for my FL2 and SWMBO’s Fiesta ST3. Both fully comp and able to drive each other’s cars with occasional business use included.
