Watched the show years ago as a kid when Ringo Starr did the voices. I know times change and kids shows adapt to modern society but FFS is it really necessary?

I’m all for equality but we aren’t allowed equality. It has to be that the issues relating to minority groups are rammed down our throats wherever we turn.

There’s too many snowflakes in society. People in my office often use the term “so and so will have a fit when they find out.” As a sufferer of epilepsy, I could complain and say how deeply upset I am by this. I don’t though because I know there’s no malice aimed at epileptic people. I’ve known some who have complained though...

Not a racist bone in my body but can see why people are being pushed towards it. PC brigade have wrecked harmony between people of different race/religion who have co-existed peacefully together for years. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

as someone who currently works for Network Rail, ive been following the Thomas the multicultural tank engine story with great interest and I must say I do find it deeply disturbing.
I mean... will they be converting him to a cleaner electric version, In which case all the tracks on the show will need electrification upgrading.? Will he have Wi-Fi on board and USB charging ports so the younger travellers can instagram their overcrowded journey to work?. And will the Controller be sent on a crash diet as he is classed as a type 2 Diabetic clinically obese person with high blood pressure who will be a burden on the overstretched NHS ?

I liked trains as much as the next 7 or 8 year old, but never “got” the attraction of Thomas etc.

But even without the PC stuff (and despite Ringo Starr’s best efforts), it was about as white, middle class and cliched as Enid Blyton or Blue Peter, 1974 style!
