The constant live to all 4 door moduals is so you can lock unlock doors and remote close windows Depends on what spec you have as to what can be controlled by the ecu

just had the same problem with rear door locking and no power to the window
checked fuse and all was ok

This may be a complete red herring, but...

I've just had exactly the same problem with my offside rear door - door not locking/unlocking and no power to the window. (I noticed, btw, that whilst this was happening the indicator lights did not flash when the car was locked with the remote, so that's something to look out for when you lock the car. The alarm did still go off if the door was opened though.)

In my case this started happening immediately after I'd used the child-proof locks for the first time ever. Thinking this may be more than a coincidence I tried turning the child locks on and off a few times, and at the moment things seem to be working again. How long for I don't know, but if you're having a problem with a rear door it's worth playing around with the child lock to see if it makes any difference.

found one on ebay with the right number (from the USA)
followed advice in the thread above, disconected battery etc, replaced module connected all up and all working again.
Many thanks to those that have the answers I'll raise a glass to you this evening
Cheers
