Disconnect the lever from the module arm when you check the vanes for easy movement.
This because the mechanism inside the module is a demultiplicative one and it is hard to move the module arm.

The sound is a turbo surge sound and it's pretty normal up to a point.

It was finally the lever
I soaked it with a ceramic paste and movement lever couple of times, and stopped doing it

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. A picture of a FL2 turbo is a picture of a FL2 turbo, its understanding how the bloody thing works not what it looks like. I am confused by many things but most people want to charge me a fortune to un-confuse me maybe I should join that club as its already been spelt out on this thread that the FL2 turbo has a lever and it needs moving while using lubricant. If anyone is confused by that or what a turbo is or looks like with due respect they maybe should be doing some homework prior to asking someone to answer the same question several times over. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The information about accessing the turbo and freeing up the turbo vane arm is all in there (plus much more).

It recommends using a JLR lubrication product which is very expensive I used Ceratec - very high temp grease.

The diagnostics are the tricky bit in modern cars. Jules
