We will need a few more details to get you sorted Browny Wink

For starters, have you got the gvif box powered up? What leds are lighting up? Is the wireless camera kicking in when you select reverse? Cheers,
Raz

Have a look at the manual and see if it helps first.

What manual.

Im flying blind.
Got gvif unit from china
As that english company had none
But got jump lead from them.
And no real wiring diagram for wireless.
There is a signal from camera as i can hear the gvif unit click when its powered up.
Just no change on sat nav screen

The manual is in the link I posted above Confused

I did exactly the same as you and bought mine from Thailand but the cable supplied was wrongly configured (as you discovered already) - once I changed the wires around in the connector it all just started working although I have still not been able to get into the os menu to change video quality.

Have you selected 'navigation' on the satnav screen?
Check the dip switches are configured correctly Cheers,
Raz

I might be reading between the line but do you have a switching feed from reversing light switch or light as the gvif unit needs this to switch between satnav and camera. This is not the same as the power supply to the unit which should be from an ignition controlled feed. (Think I piggy backed from satnav supply for this feed)

Also suggest check camera video is plugged into correct socket on gvif, the a/v sockets all look the same and could be confused

Good luck with it

Camera feed is good it said rear.
Gvif is powered by sat nav

Just been using a live feed on camera to test.
But rear has now been properly installed off reversinglight.

Sounds like wiring is ok.
If you engage reverse does the screen go blank or is satnav displayed ?
If the screen goes blank suggest check camera, if satnav stays on suggest check the switchin from reverse light/switch.

Suggest sofa, can of beer and a leisurely reading of the manual. As you say it will be simple and the penny will drop.
Good luck - you will find it very useful.

I would recommend a switched live for the gvif - no point in having it powered up 24/7. I went for an unused fuse (F5 I think) under the glove box and ran it through the centre console under the drivers seat. Just use some d/s foam tape and plonk the unit on top of the satnav DVD drive - works a treat.
Oh and forget about the canbus connection - it just complicates things further IMHO Cheers,
Raz
