LR seem to produce a lot of brake dust (like volvo, MB, etc.) - I used Akebono pads on our Volvo, but could not find any for LR2...

Anyone changed the brake pads yet?

I have noticed that too (wash car and after a few km's the wheels are full of gray dust). What exactly are the Akebono pads? Would they produce less dust?

Akebono brakes do not produce dust at all, but you will need to press harder on the pedal.

Cermaic pads are quite expensive, and you'll still end up with somewhat dirty wheels. "If you can't explain in it less than 10 seconds, it's probably not worth knowing anyways"

A good quality acid free wheel cleaner and then a couple of coatings of alloy wheel sealant makes the cleaning of the alloys very easy.

I use Poor Boys Wheels sealant on mine
