England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

Have just completed a leisurely 800+ mile trip over the last 3 days.
Kent-Manchester-Newcastle-Wolverhampton-Cannock-Kent.

Averaged 41.6 MPG (no a/c) and not a faulter with the FL2. Now 2000 on clock and needs its first splash of oil to top up. Book is recommending 5/30 oil. Anyone use anything different? FL2 TD4 XS Santorini

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

have a 2.2TD4 GS auto...wife only uses it for school runs
Never got more that 22mpg out of it. had the computer reset a number of times...each time they did this it showed 29MPG (then back to 22mpg after a few days). How can it be 2pMGH - book say urban is 25.7 for Auto in urban onditions anyway....getting it reset/re-programmed sounds doggy top me the computer tells us briefly want we to see.
Only way to measure is fill it, record the miles and work it out for yourselef .....my wife still gets 22mpg!!!!!!

i have similar mpg doing a short run to work

mpg suffers if the car doesn't warm up,

and the heavy footed wife speeding to school to get the screaming kids out asap won't help either Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Baltic Blue

My manual TD4 usualy manages 33 to the gallon if I am just doing the home to work journey every day. This is 6 miles each way on country roads. On longer journeys and it will go up to an average of 37+. Did once manage 42 on a long days run in France, mix of autoroute and empty country roads.

My 33 local average always goes down on the odd occasion when my wife borrows the car to 30. Do all women have a heavy right foot/ He who dies with the most tools wins!

Am getting between 35 and 37 normally. Saw 44.5 on the display once and climbing but I arrived so it went back down after that! Never come quite that close again but if I drive like miss Daisy I can get 40ish without too much drama. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

Just turned 4000 miles from new

When I first had it it was crap, wouldn't get better than 28. The engine did feel really tight.

Its just started to loosen up and the expected diesel torque wave has appeared. Yesterday I did 200 mile round trip on the M1 and managed 31.

Wish I could get close to some of the economy you guys are getting, but then again 80 is my motorway norm and it does have the aerodynamics of a house brick so can't complain

Have to say I'm loving it, really pleased with the choice of car 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky

Yeah anything higher than 70mph or about 2k rpm will kill your economy on these things from what I have seen. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!! She thinks it feels Perky for a big car........ but still may be worth getting it checked from the dealer as even with the computer reset it does not pass 30mpg.

Are there any known problems that could cause the poor consumption, heavy right foot aside?

air filter not changed at all services? could hurt the economy and its a very cheap part.

or possibly someone syphoning your fuel? I had to lift the front of rover60's car onto a log the other day in order to get the diesel to syphon out Laughing At work
