Landrover vs VW owners

My neighbour has just bought a 15 plate Skoda Yeti. She seems very pleased with it but asked if I could help sort out the fact that the digital display is showing Km/hour and the analogue speedo is only marked in mph. Having gone through the book and couldn't see how to change it I decided to register on a VW forum and ask the question. No practical help at all, just a suggestion that it might be possible if I get it reprogrammed to be an Australian or Canadian model (although that might not work on a 15 plate) followed by long discussion about the legalities of having either or both units showing. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Just had a VW Polo hire car in Austria and I switched it to English Language and had option to choose MPH or KPH, all seemed straight forward enough. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

No such luck with this one even the VW dealer claimed that they didn't know how to change it. What I have learned so far is that the software in VW /Skoda cars seems to be different in different model years and models. The video above doesn't help for post 13 plate Yetis. We think we have problems! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I have had the same problem with my 2013 VW Tiguan.I have tried everything to change the digital display to mph. without success.I have gone through the settings menu and found nothing.I am on the Tiguan forum, and nobody seems to know how to solve the problem.VW don't seem to make things easy!

Yes I asked a general question about Haldex servicing on a Yeti and got no responses. Looks like LR owners are made of tougher stuff (or perhaps they need to be) Shocked 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I don't think it is a problem.

In the old days the speedo had MPH with KMH in smaller numbers on the inside.

My wife's Golf only has MPH on the speedo, and the digital display is in KPH.

Therefore if driving abroad it is easy to see what speed in KPH you are doing ensuring you don't break the speed limit.

As you have MPH on the speedo why do you want to change the digital display ?

The Lady next door with the Yeti expects me to be able to fix it. Since her husband left her she comes to me with all sorts of queries and requests. It's like having two wives. Sad 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I had a Tiguan and dealer didn't know how to change it either Sad If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.
