United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black
G'day from W.A. - Now G'Day from the U.K.!

Hi guys and gals.

I'm Alex and I purchased a 2 year old Freelander 2 I6 HSE this week.
In the 200 or so Km's I've done in it, I have to say that I am really, really impressed Very Happy Very Happy I just love all the gadgets on it.

I took a bit of a gamble. I could have gone "safe" and bought a brand new top-of-the-range Mitsubishi Outlander with a HUGE warranty, but the heart ruled the head (thankfully, but it's always a fight) and the Freelander won the day. Just bought an extended 3 year warranty just in case though Whistle

To be honest, I really wanted a Grey TD4 HSE but there wasn't any available for sale by the time I sold my Evo IX Crying or Very sad so I had to make an impulse decision and ended up with a white petrol version that had only just come up for sale (GOOD deal Thumbs Up ) and the white is growing on me Smile

We just had a baby boy, and as my wife is on maternity leave, I plan to do a lot of driving/exploring around S.W. Australia and maybe venture up north in it also whilst she is still off work.

I'm getting the windows tinted next week, and yes, I am looking at getting the clear indicator lenses put on Wink

I hope to learn more about this vehicle and believe this is the right forum for doing so.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics.

Hi AiiEEX and welcome to the club, everyone on here knows what the FL2 can do so I hope you enjoy your trip driving and exploring around S.W. Australia Thumbs Up

But I dont think there was any need to post a photo of your FL2 with all that sunshine in the back ground, remember most of us are in the uk and to day has been one of those long grey days, we get about 95% of the time
(dont worry just jealous of your weather down there in OZ Evil or Very Mad )

mcphersonstrut: It's clean because Australia employs small Asians armed with a jet washer at every entrance of a popular track.... Yeah, I wish!
It's clean because I had only just collected the car from the dealer an hour previous... just couldn't wait to go off road Very Happy

toeknee: I feel your pain. I had 33 years of UK weather. I moved to Oz nearly 6 years ago and I have had the "brain transplant" and became an Oz citizen a few years ago.

More pics shall be posted of my adventures out. it might just help with sufferers of S.A.D. Cool

G'Day from the U.K.!

We'll I'm back in the U.K. for a few years and sold my Freelander 2 in Oz and replaced it for, what I call, Freelander 2.1!

Loving the spec of the HSE Lux and the fuel economy Thumbs Up .... just not liking the weather Big Cry

Had roof rails put on and will get some bike carriers to attach to them.
I plan to tint front windows a little and put on a tow bar at some point.

Been a while since I've been on the Forum but it's good to read other people experiences/stories and see a few familiar names.

I have fitted a few things to my car recently, namely a Witter detachable tow bar to carry the little lads bike. Thanks to the help here, I managed to install it myself with ease Thumbs Up

Also fitted a couple of bike carriers.

Aren't we just the sporty family! Laughing

Haha - Cheers mate.

It's so funny how everyone is talking about the weather when it's only in the high 20's.

Yes, it's getting there and I'm certainly not complaining but I left Oz in 40 degree heat so it has some way to go!

I hope you have some good weather there. We have been traveling for two months & have not had drop of rain, but plenty of dust on the back roads & temperatures ranging from 1C around Bourke to 44C up north!
