Keen to hear how you find this conversion, I’d like to similar to my 2014 Sd4. I had expected a slight improvement in fuel consumption and to be honest it’s current power is plenty, although the increase in torque would be beneficial for towing . Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

With all such mods fuel economy is liable to plummet initially until the novelty of extra power wears off and you stop mashing the carpet just to test how much better the acceleration is. |

Hi can I ask you why you think fuel consumption will plummet,? I have had several stage 1 remaps in cars and seen slight increase in mpg on a performance remap, they also offer a economy remap for the Freelander 2 which is slight increase in bhp and torque but even better fuel consumption. |

I wonder how much is down to reprofiling the response of the accelerator pedal to be more sensitive so gives the impression of more power? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I had the Bluefin remap installed last November, so have had plenty of time to evaluate it.

You might consider the Bluespark 'tuning box' which gives similar benefits as far as I can tell. The main advantage over a remap however, is that it is entirely reversable if you find out that you don't like it for any reason.

I’m with you on that. Years ago I used to have doubled-up throttle return springs on my mini(s) - made them feel much faster because you had to push harder on the accelerator pedal! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto Previously: 2010 MY FL2 TD4e GS - Now gone at 199,500 miles, about 135,000 of them mine. ‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW ‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol ‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever! A (Superchips) "Bluefin" remap is also reversible. The big advantage of the Bluefin is that there's no box under the bonnet so it's not obvious that you've remapped. I've been happy with mine. Overtaking is much quicker but I haven't seen any improvement in mpg. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |
