United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

I saw that link, I think that's some kind of atmospheric sensor, I unplugged the throttle body.
Strange things are happening though. Before I took the truck for a run I tidied up the wiring harness in the pass footwell as I had been checking it for shorting.
Started her up and bingo it went straight into fault fuel gauge drop special programmes off within a couple of seconds.
So I think there must be a bad wire in the loom.......

Checked wiring from bcm back to the fuel senders resistance very close to what's at the external sender connection. Found 4 crimps that looked ok but soldered them to be sure. It looks like the ground for the fuel sender jet pump is to the chassis somewhere but not found it yet to check but I doubt it would throw up a fault. So the plot thickens......Next I guess will be the connectors on the instrument pack and poss the terrain module.
Can anyone who has had the fuel gauge problem remember if they had the
Special programs off message first? Thanks in advance
Pete
