Spec of Models

i know the GS is second from the bottom,

However ive seen one or 2 GS models with full leather and a few other extras that most GS models dont have.

Could the dealer have had these added on later

Late model GS from 2013? Onwards have full leather and are really very nicely finished, my main criticism is of the basic stereo display which looks cheap compared to higher spec touch screen nav units. Other than that you are not missing much. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

the Gs models i seen were earlier models, but discounted them as really high mileage

More toys more things to go wrong

Options such as full leather were always there for the original purchaser to choose - though very few did-so, as it was pretty expensive. . Same applies to sat-nav. What bits matter to you?

If you are looking to buy a FL2, probably better not to worry too much about original options...Buy lowest mileage car you can find with your chosen engine/gearbox, and with the best service history. Currently enjoying:

2013 BMW X3 20D M-Sport Auto
2007 Jaguar XK 4.2 Coupe

i was just curious on how the Gs had full leather

Im more for a well looked after FL2 at a sensible price rather than spec as GS seems more than adequate

When looking at FL2s it is very important that you check which options have been fitted.
The original owners of the FL2 seem to have been quite eager to specify additional options, which in my experience the secondhand dealers do not include in adverts.

It is best to study the Sales Brochures so that you know what you are looking for.

Don't be too afraid of the additional equipment, FL2s are reasonably reliable. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Although they’ve got the same badge on the front it’s not really right to compare a Freelander to a defender they are totally different cars designed decades apart. The freelander is often described as landrovers most reliable product. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

The FL2 is as reliable as the previous model Volvo X60, or to that matter with lots of Ford cars, with which it shares most of it's bits.

In some ways the reliability depends on you. Buy a good example from a reliable dealer, freshly serviced, MOT'ed, and guaranteed, and as long as you look after it, and get it regularly serviced, then you should have miles and years of enjoyable driving.

Or you could try to beat the system and buy a cheap untested example...……………. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
