My vehicle and is fast approaching 100k and although driving like a new car I am unsure how it has been operated in the past.

Is it genuinely possible to do this job just by marking the belt? I consider myself a good mechanic without fear of doing timing belts, but equally don't want to start the job without having the right kit to finish it! Could someone with the kit give me an idea of the diameter of the locking pins? |

The timing pins are not the issue, a couple of bolts or drill bits will suffice for that but as previously stated, the locking tool is needed to be able to undo & retorque the crankshaft bolt.
