Thanks for the offer but I have been to 2 garages one being an independent land rover garage in Stockport. And the only faults that show related to the turbo.

Have you tried adding an additional earth wire from battery to starter motor or engine block ? Its been previously found to be the cause of many electrical issues and there are several are threads on it - searching should find them. Jules |

Just helped my friend who had a similar issue with the same fault codes and had been advised by Land Rover that he needed a new turbo based on the p2263 code and occasional mil light. He had restricted performance message and engine would not rev above 2000rpm. I checked that the variable vane arm wasn`t seized and also was able to look into the inlet side of the turbo and check for bearing wear/damage which there wasn`t any. Checked turbo actuator and it seeemed to be moving as it should when ignition was switched on. I then spent a good few hours researching on the internet using the 3 fault codes and in the end decided that it was (possibly) a faulty turbo actuator. He picked up a s/h actuator which I fitted for him and it cured the problem. Comparing the 2 actuators they both seemed to cycle in the same way when the ignition was switched on,however when moving the arms by hand the faulty ones arm was very slow to return back whereas the replacement actuators arm snapped back really quickly. Before spending any money on anything however I would check and make sure the other possible causes of restricted performance have been eliminated .I.e fuel filter, split or delaminated intercooler hose. Yorky : I have a 2014 car and didnt think it had an extra earth so I added one - (battery to gearbox- as there was a unused tapped hole in a convenient place). Where is the extra earth you're talking about ? Jules |

Once the Ewoks shared the same platform as the last of the FL2's the earthing was up graded as were most of the electrics. Early and late are sooooooooo different. As a non believer get a 2007 one next to yours, open the bonnet and check it out as a I dont have a schematic drawing set of both years to prove otherwise.

EGR fails once engine is hot. So runs OK until warmed up then goes into limp mode.

The fault could be cleared with a code reader but would return within a minute or 2 and the engine would do a little jump and the restricted performance message would come up with the engine not revving above 2000 rpm. |

So yorky and don the way you describe the EGR and actuator, it would happen all the time, not once every few weeks?
