The day has come where I'm trading the Freelander in so I'm selling on the guards.

Very good prices there, never regretted fitting mine. |

They tank plate is relatively easy to fit yourself .... provided you've got a trolley jack, decent spanners, a brain, oh and also decent instructions.

I'm going to see what happens with Ray Harvey this afternoon. If I am going to be in for another £200 added the £50 for picking up the guard I might as well have bought a new one. |

Ray (a legend in Land Rover preparation in Essex) and I wrestled the guard into submission with the application of cunning, guile, a good stock of flanged nuts and bolts, and a welder. It is now fitted as robustly as had it had the original fittings.

Indeed, apologies again T4. If only I'd managed to find the instructions when I dismantled it I'd have known not to leave the other bits behind.

Just so I don't embarrass myself again can someone confirm that the only fittings required for the sump guard are 4 M10 x 50mm bolts? |

The ones that come out of the pan and are put aside are M10x25. The kit comes with two lengths of bolts but I couldn't work out if the longer of the two went at the front of the back. It didn't seem to make any difference which way around they were.

Provisionally sold Odi. If that changes I'll let you know. |
