Tuning

Ok so my history of previous cars is mainly of hot hatches which have been tuned slightly with a remap, filter, exhaust. Out of my previous 3 Freelanders (1998my, 2006my FL1 with Synergy tuning box and 2009 FL2) i've just added extras for looks as they weremore for comfort than speed. I fitted the tuning box to the FL1 to cure the flat spot when setting off and it helped a lot.
I'm looking at either a remap or tuning box for my 14my for a little more mid range and more mpg but don't want 1 that just chucks more fuel in as i don't want DPF problems.
I've seen a few mention the BlueSpark boxes but looking on ebay there are at least 3 different models for the FL2 so it would be great to hear from an owner of a later DPF equipt car that has fitted 1 who could give some input or fom anyone that has had a remap

Cheers

I got my 59 plate remapped by Jamie cox from JC tuning, he's based in Darlington, made my car drive so much better, worth giving him a shout Thumbs Up

or if you feeling flush take it to Alive tuning in Louth, LR specialists and their work normally doesn't affect any warranty. Think its about 400-500 for their stage 1 remap which keeps it within tolerances on transmission.

I'm a bit wary of actual remaps as if the car has software updates during a service this might remove the map Sad wouldn't want to have to go back to tuning company for the map putting back on again.
The boxes are less than £200 (bluespark) and i guess it could be sold on later if i change the car so i'd get some expense back making the box even cheaper Thumbs Up wouldn't want to fit a cheap box that could cause problems so would like to hear from someone who has fitted 1 and if poss to a dpf car as i don't know if it could cause issues with that?

Normal software updates won’t over right a remap, it would have to be a update to the engine tuning parameters

But if you had a bluefin, you could take it off prior to the dealer getting the car and reinstall

My mpg went down after a bluefin guess I enjoyed the extra power and smoothness Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
