I wouldnât trust that Ed China to work on my car. You canât even trust him to put a T Shirt and a jumper on in the right order.

I used to really enjoy the old wheeler dealers (still watch the repeats too) but then it pandered to Mikes desire to be an American and the program lost it's way. We know that most of what we saw was scripted and due to filming schedules there was more than Edd who did some of the work to get the cars ready for sale. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater of Mike, I actually think he brought an extra dimension to the show with his brash Essex boy way and the partnership he had with Edd seemed well balanced, I just wish they had stayed within Europe and spent a bit more time showing the work being done rather than have the two of them going out on a jolly at the end of each episode. |

When they went stateside I went off the program, it seemed to get cheesier. I always felt a bit sorry for Ed as he seemed to do all the hard work while Mike swanned around. But the formula did work. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

They have had a couple of interesting cars on the USA version, Escort Cossie, S3 LR, Austin Healey 3L and such like. But generally most of the cars have just been relatively dull American things, although the new mechanic Ant does seem to be very good at all sorts of fabrication and other work that Ed China never did.
