Its a shame this happened to Glendale, but I'm sure if you trawl the forums for any make of car there will be odd instances of catstrophic failure like this.

Hope you were not using 2-stroke oil when your engine seized

Did it have a particulate filter (DPF) fitted? |

No, it is just as far as i know a bog standard td4 diesel 9000 miles on the clock 08 march, have to say landrover have looked after me really well. Got a disco 3 for as long as it takes, landrover phoned yesterday still waiting for a new engine.

All FL2's imported to Norway from 2007 ca. July do in fact have a DPF, so I would have thought UK versions would have the same as this is not an extra add on 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

hi guys we has one in our spot with the same siezed engine, turns out the oil cooler became coolant oiler! and the freelander decided to be wise during the credit crunch and deposited all of its oil in an ISA in the form of the coolant system, oops, Richh. they all do that! |
