I thought that you started with the brake the furthest away from the reserve and worked inwards.

It is generally accepted that in handbooks/workshop manuals etc that any reference to left and right assumes that you are sitting in the driving seat. The procedure of bleeding the furthest away wheel and working back is probably no longer relevent with the introduction of abs and the very complex brake pipe layout where pipes run to/from the abs modulator.

It will mean as you are sitting in the vehicle, it normally states that in most manuals. Surely it doesn't matter what seat you are sitting in, left is always left! If they did use the terms nearside or offside, that would mean different sides depending on which country you were in.  Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
